Cider-house El Asador is located on the Bolshaya Ordynka street in a three-story wooden mansion built in the early XIX century and opened its doors in June 2009.
El Asador – is the first cider-house in Moscow and a unique corner of Spain in the city center. Specialty of our restaurant are the 9 varieties of delicious draft cider St. Anton - the biggest selection in Moscow.
Here, in a cozy atmosphere, you can enjoy different types of refreshing cider of our own production, made with Russian apples of cider varieties. You will learn the culture of drinking cider and discover its’ perfect pairing with gourmet Basque-Navarre cuisine.
Cuisine
Basque cuisine is recognized as one of best in the world. Basque Country is home to biggest concentration of Michelin-starred restaurants in Spain and the city of San Sebastian - a world record for the number of Michelin stars per capita.
El Asador in Spanish means a “grill-house”, so our speciality is everything grilled or baked. To cook we use traditional Spanish clay oven and a Josper-type grill, both of which we fire with aromatic alder wood. In the oven we slow-cook meat and vegetables so that they become juicy and melting in the mouth, but also retain all the beneficial properties.
Chef
Our chef is Stanislav Timohin who has beenworking with north-Spanish cuisine for more 8 years and has worked at some of the best restaurants in the gastronomic capital of Spain San Sebastian.
Interior
The building is a three-storey wooden mansion constructed in the XVII century and renovated after the invasion of Moscow by Napoleon in 1812. The interior is in Spanish tradition with a lot of wood, a large oven and barrels of cider –everything is designed for a cozy and pleasant stay.
Bar area
The first floor of the restaurant is the perfect place for friendly meetings or quick lunches. Pleasant background music soothes and adjusts to the communication. We offer a special Bar menu with inexpensive snacks - tapas and pintxos. If desired, you can order food from the main menu.
The drinks on offer are a wide variety of Spanish wines, sherry, port wine, vermouths and, of course, cider own production. We also serve more than 15 different Spanish-style gin&tonics.
The bar opens at 8 AM for breakfasts.
Banquets
Here you will meet the refined interior and perfect tableware. The highlight of the room - a large clay oven Horno de Lena, built by the Spanish models. It is here prepared specialties from El Asador - stewed lamb milk, goat and pig. In the hall - 75 seats.
Private cabinet and balcony
The second floor - the perfect place for a romantic dinner and celebration in a small circle of good company. Private cabinet designed for 10 guests and a balcony for 20.
Summer terrace
In the summer in the courtyard of El Asador opens the doors of our summer terrace with a capacity of up to 70 people. Here you can celebrate a major event or a nice evening in a circle of close friends.
Entertainment
We regularly organize different events with flamenco and live music. Every Friday the restaurant you can enjoy a live band.
Breakfast and Lunch
On weekdays from 8 to 12 hours in the bar we serve breakfasts. Start your day right - try the original Spanish dishes and pastries, fresh juices, refreshing tea and coffee.
On weekdays, from 12 to 16 hours – we serve inexpensive but tasty Spanish lunches. Average bill is just over 350 rubles.
